The Government’s aim to close schools is to try and stop the spread of Coronavirus, therefore we are opening schools for the minimum number of pupils possible. This will also reduce the risk to, and burden, on the skeletal staff that will be catering for these pupils.
Until we have a clear understanding of the number of pupils that we will be catering for, each school will be offering provision on their own sites. If we feel that provision can be centralised we will direct parents to another appropriate Trust school.
Please be patient whilst we work through this situation. New information is provided daily and it can take time to process exactly what can and cannot be provided by our schools. Please also bear in mind that our staff have their own children, families and vulnerable relatives who can be affected by this outbreak so the decisions that we make will be in the best interest of all.
We will be reviewing the Key Worker requests that we have received but if a parent/carer can keep their children at home they must. If you have a partner who is not a key worker, you are expected to keep your child at home.
We encourage you to keep watching the school Twitter page, website and SchoolsApp as we will be updating those regularly with new information and advice throughout the closure period.
If at any point we cannot operate due to health and safety reasons, your child will be offered an alternative provision by the local authority.
I would like to reiterate the closure is to slow the spread of the virus so please help to do this by keeping your child safe at home wherever possible, following the social distancing guidance, self-isolating where necessary and washing hands regularly.
