Starting reception school
If you would like your child to attend our school, please see full details of our admission arrangements below.
Catalyst Aveley Primary is responsible for the Admission Policy for all children in the area to enter full-time education.
If your child was born between 1st September 2022 and 31st August 2023, you must apply for their reception school place for September 2027.
Monday 2nd November 2026 Application period opens at 12:00pm
Friday 15th January 2027 Application period closes for on-time applications
Friday 16th April 2027 Notification of offers are available from 12:30am

Deciding which school to send your child to is not an easy decision to make and there are many factors, unique to each family, which need to be taken into consideration. We recommend making an appointment to come and visit Benyon Primary School so that you can get a real feel for the school and it's ethos. Admissions Policies
Nursery Admissions
To apply for a place at the nursery please email admin.bps@catrust for a form. We offer the following sessions for 3 and 4 year olds.
Monday to Friday during term time.
- All day - 8.30 - 3.15
- AM - 8.30 - 11.30
- PM 12.15 - 3.15
Admission Appeals
If you have not been offered a place at Aveley Primary School, you can appeal the decision to an independent appeals panel which is completely independent to the school and the Local Authority.
If you wish to appeal for a place in Reception, year 1 or year 2, please use this link to complete your appeal online.
If you wish to appeal a place for a place in years 3 - 6, please use this link to complete your appeal online.
Please do NOT use any other appeal form or send your form to your local authority. It is suggested that you download the explanatory booklet about appeals which you should read before you complete the appeal form.
Last day for lodging appeals forms for a place in Reception to start in September 2026 is 12 noon on Wednesday 20th May 2026 to guarantee that your appeal will be heard in the first round of appeals.
Appeals lodged after this date may not be heard until the second round which could be in September 2026.
You will receive an invitation letter giving details about your hearing at least 10 school days before your hearing.
