Home Learning - January 2021
As you are aware Benyon Primary School will be closed to all but critical worker children, and so the majority of children will not return to school on Tuesday 5th January 2021, but instead participate in online learning as directed by the Government.
Staff have been busy in school preparing for live lessons that will begin on Tuesday 5th January, alongside other home learning, using the platforms that the children are familiar with (Logins for these can be found in your children’s reading record book). The children will have access to three live lessons a day which have been timetabled for different year groups, so that siblings will not need to access lessons at the same time. Registers will be completed at each of these live lessons, so it is important that your child logs on to Teams at the specified time.
There will be tasks set on Teams via Assignments that your child will be able to complete electronically or print and photograph to upload. Additional tasks will be set on Purple Mash, Reading Pro, Spelling Shed and other platforms appropriate to your child’s age. The completion of all activities set will be monitored, and we are hoping for high levels of engagement, so that your child can pick up their learning quickly on returning to school.
Please use the online chat facility to make the class teacher aware of any difficulties you have with accessing any of the live lessons, or online learning tasks, so they can be resolved as quickly as possible.
Don’t forget that we also communicate through Twitter @BenyonPS and @BenyonPE. We will also be using this App to set additional challenges for the children, so don’t forget to sign up and follow us.
Also download the MyHappymind App which has some useful activities to support your child’s wellbeing. Your child’s class teacher will be directing you to some of these.

Welcome to Year 3
Welcome to Year 3, as the children progress from Key Stage 1 into lower Key Stage 2, we encourage them to develop their key skills such as: independence, time management, organisation and collaborative learning. Teaching and learning in Year 3 can be fast paced, but it is always exciting and challenging. Our school core values are always at the heart of their learning and interactions with each other. We look forward to working together with you to nurture and support your child, as they move forward into a new chapter of their school life.
